Welder (Swing Shift)

Journeyman: $30.54 /hour    
Job Summary:
This occupation involves the performance of basic and specialized welding required in fabricating of structural components in plant facilities and other welding work necessary in the repair and maintenance of equipment; requires the ability to read blueprints and to do layout work. Takes lead in directing other trades persons. Works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisors or Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Requires a current Department of Transportation medical certificate
3. Must become a member of the Hawaii Teamsters and Allied Workers Local 996
Additional Information
1. Operates an electric welding machine, acetylene torch and other welding or shop equipment as required.
2. Use of specific types of welding rods when necessary to make specialized and basic welds.
3. Reads blueprints, lays out, fabricates and cuts.
4. Drives or operates equipment or machinery incidental to other duties.
5. Assists other trades people when necessary.
6. May direct other employees assigned to assist in the performance of specific projects.
7. Reports unsafe conditions and mechanical defects.
8. Follows established procedures in preparing necessary reports, requisitions, parts requests, etc.
9. Performs other related duties as directed.
10. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
