Job Summary:
This is a seasonal, full time position with a Winter layoff and a Spring recall.

JOB SUMMARY

Assists in quarry operations.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations. (Federal, state, local and company policies.)
Works in surface mine, pit, or quarry, or at preparation plant in a safe manner.
Cleans up spillage from under conveyors, vibrating screens, rock crushers and other equipment as needed using shovels and high pressure water hoses in a safe manner.
Performs light maintenance on equipment as directed. Add fluids to grease.
Climbs ladder to move socking machine frequently.
Frequently exposed to high catwalks or platforms.
Recommends safety improvements.
Change screen cloth on vibrating screens.
Observes plant and equipment for proper operation and notifies plant operator or supervisor of malfunctions or breakdowns.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position may require you to wear a half mask respirator at times and therefore, you will be required to be fit tested. Per OSHA “The Respiratory Protection standard, paragraph 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A), states that respirators shall not be worn when facial hair comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function. Facial hair is allowed as long as it does not protrude under the respirator seal, or extend far enough to interfere with the device's valve function. Short mustaches, sideburns, and small goatees that are neatly trimmed so that no hair compromises the seal of the respirator usually do not present a hazard and, therefore, do not violate paragraph 1910.134(g)(1)(i)

Typical hours during production are M-F 7am-5pm. Minimum of 2 Saturdays a month from 7am-noon.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Less than high school education, or
Up to one month related experience or training, or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Driver’s license required.
