We have an excellent opportunity for a Yard Equipment Operator at our Prestress Division in Spokane, WA! Responsibilities includes, but are not limited to the following: - Operates 4-Post or Conventional Crane - Works at ground level attaching rigging to concrete pieces and ensuring a safe perimeter around moving cranes - Responsible for load securement (either through personal work or through inspection of other’s) on all product leaving company property - Interprets part drawings to ascertain appropriate pick points - Interprets load lists and erection drawings to ensure appropriate products (including ship loose, when required) are sequentially loaded - Inspects and assembles rigging equipment and attaches appropriate rigging to loads - Clearly communicates with standardized hand signals both with other riggers and production foremen - Follows all plant safety protocols and protects the safety of coworkers and visitors at all times - Identifies opportunities for safety improvements in the weld shop and/or production yard - Follows directions with minimal supervision - Maintains good housekeeping - Maintains tidy workspace at all times - Cleans up waste as work progresses - Returns tools to appropriate storage - Other duties as assigned Earn $3 million at Knife River Prestress. Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous construction experience preferred - Equipment operating experience is a plus - Welding skills are a plus - Must know how to read and understand a tape measure - Proficiency with hand and power tools - Ability to understand and apply basic math skills Physical Environment: - Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed - Ability to stand regularly, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms - Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions - Ability to sit in bridge crane for extended periods of time
