Concrete Batch/Dispatcher/Scheduler

Job Summary:
• Receive, assign and communicate work orders to production plant and Ready Mix delivery trucks. Schedule, dispatch and monitor truck activity through computer terminal. Support and monitor electronic batching process using Command Alkon batching system.
• Relay information from site to site via two-way radio system.
• Monitor and continuously update truck availability and delivery status.
• Correlate customer needs with other orders to insure punctual arrivals.
• Prepare and advise management with operational reports for demand forecast, truck utilization, capacity, and other standard dispatch reports.
• Perform daily equipment walk around and site inspections.
• Identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
• Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings. Safely and properly operate plant.
• Identify appropriate material to produce quality concrete per job specifications and
communicate these needs to appropriate personnel.
• Communicate with Quality Control personnel and make required adjustments
to material blends. Monitor inventory levels of all materials and order to ensure no depletion during production demand. Monitor production levels and adjust as needed.
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, and written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
• Self-motivated team player with good interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
• Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
• Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
• Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation as needed.
• Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Maintain a safe work environment and foster safety culture.
• Ensure good housekeeping skills and lockout/tag out procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in the Ready Mix industry preferred.
Have knowledge of equipment operation and scheduling. Knowledge of Command Alkon, Command Batch or Command Spectrum Systems operation preferred. Have the knowledge and operational skills of two-way
radio systems. Have the ability to read maps and follow instructions. Proficient math skills, legible handwriting, and proper phone etiquette. Communicate well with others and act courteous and respectful. Demonstrate listening, organizational and multi task
skills. Maintain positive customer relations. Ability to work in a team setting with limited supervision.

Physical/Mental Requirements:
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Hand-eye coordination, ability to preform consistently while doing repetitious work. Work in high stress situations while communicating effectively with multiple parties simultaneously.

Work/Schedule Hours: Monday - Friday and Saturdays as needed, up to 60-70 hours per week depending on seasonal conditions.
Compensation: Full time, hourly position. DOE Benefits available after 60 days: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and 401(k) with employer match.
