Staff Accountant

Knife River has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant in Medford.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Preparation of journal entries, including all appropriate back-up information.
- Preparation of detailed balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial related reports.
- Banking reports and reconciliations.
- Assist in establishing, maintaining and enhancing accounting controls and procedures.
- Provide assistance and analysis on special projects or other financial activities as needed.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
- Travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with an accounting emphasis from an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in accredited accounting program.
- Proven knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- High ethical and moral standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs with an intermediate to advanced ability with Excel.
- Professional work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of progressive accounting experience.
- Construction industry experience.
- JDEdwards and Oracle Business Intelligence software experience.
