We have an opening for an Outside Sales Representative in Spokane, WA!

Knife River’s Outside Sales position is responsible for developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the precast market in the Pacific Northwest. To develop this understanding the outside salesperson will be required to meet with clients on a frequent basis to discuss their project pipelines and how precast can provide added value to these projects, while maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales.

The salesperson is then responsible for clearly communicating project timelines, budgets and next step requirements with the sales team and may need to be an intermediary between our customer and the project management team as required.

Additional tasks will include the development of proposals, presentations and coordination of technical content development with our design team. Post award requirements will include handing off projects to the project management team and on-going client relationship during and post project completion.

Project based workloads fluctuate and will require working outside of typical business hours when needed.

Essential Functions:
• Client relationship management
• Grow industry knowledge on use of precast maintain, and build, relationships with clients, vendors and internal staff to optimize sales process
• Provide preconstruction ROM and best value job costing to contractors
• Utilize CRM to effectively communicate efforts to sales and production teams
• Communicate with clients, sales and project management teams to optimize project hand offs
• Provide additional estimating services as needed from team
• Traveling and working remotely from home plant will be common
Minimum Qualifications:
• Team player with collaborative attitude willing to help others, the team, and the company reach its goals.
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Organized and works well under demanding deadlines
• Software experience in: Excel, Word, Access and BlueBeam/Adobe suites.
• Experienced in reading construction documents (Architectural & Structural Drawings) General CAD knowledge a plus, but not a requirement
• Experience in quantity take-offs for concrete and/or building enclosure components
• Desire and willingness to train others
• Experience in supporting design/build contracts
