Safety Manager

Job Summary:
Responsible for understanding, upholding and promoting CSG’s Critical Success Factors, 1) Safety First!; 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction.

1. Assist the management team in controlling hazardous working conditions through interface with project management/supervisory/field personnel.
2. Arrange and provide training for crew members, to include, but not limited to; use of PPE, electrical construction safe work practices, confined spaces, Smith driving, and incident investigation.
3. Partner with third party administrator to perform crew visits and report findings on safety reviews.
4. Conduct thorough inspections of construction areas. Assist in identifying, documenting and recommending mitigation of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
5. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis for specific tasks and focus on field hazard recognition/correction.
6. Interface with preconstruction service providers such as ISNetworld and Gold Shovel.
7. Identify, coordinate, and keep record of employee safety training and all necessary retraining.
8. Work within and support a collaborative team environment that supports field and project management operations to ensure the organization’s mission, values, and goals.
9. Conduct on-site project inspections to verify company safety procedures are followed and implemented.
10. Participate in the New Hire Safety Orientation Program.
11. Conduct or partner in property damage and personal injury investigations.
12. Conduct incident investigations and assist in the HOPI process and driving field understanding.
13. Knowledge of OSHA/Title 8 in the state of California as well as applicable consensus standards such as ASTM, ANSI and NESC.
14. Accompany OSHA safety and health compliance officers on walk through tours as required.
15. Transport equipment and obtain, as necessary, all permits, licenses, titles, safety checks, etc. as required by corporate policy, state or federal regulations, or client requirements.
16. This position is required to drive.
17. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational and experience requirements include: Minimum 3-4 years electrical construction safety experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience. Electrical experience preferred. Knowledge of all federal, state, local, and company safety guidelines, rules and regulations required. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential. Knowledge of safe working practices as applied to work or electrical installations and systems. Must have safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements.

• Experience as a skilled crafts person in the industrial electrical and/or HVAC construction sector
• Up to date NFPA 70E training certification
• Up to date knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E code and industry standards in the Industrial electrical and HVAC/R field

Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is important. Knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E National code standards.

Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and supervisory skills are very important.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
