Financial Analyst II/III

Entry Level: $4,500/$5,200 - $5,625/$6,500 /month

Job Summary:
Responsibility for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. This position would be responsible for (1) providing accounting, financial, and analytical support to the various departments (transmission, accounting, fixed assets, regulatory) for transmission related projects , (2) preparing and submitting transmission revenue requirements as required under FERC approved templates and MISO schedules. (3) assisting other departments in the proper tracking and recovery of transmission related expenses and revenues or credits, (4) preparing annual updated FSA monthly payments and other annual schedules or reports as required, (5) assist in the submittal of Transmission department budgets, (6) assist in creation of transmission work orders and project closeouts, (7) assist with sending billings to RECs, and (8) assist with land payments and accounting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level II - Must possess a working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and principles at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in accounting or finance and two years' experience in accounting.
Level III - Must meet Level II qualifications and four years' experience in accounting, with a minimum two years' experience in financial analysis
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA or professional certification desired.
• JD Edwards and utility accounting experience
• Familiar with Regional Transmission Organizations
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, flexible and willing to learn and/or assist in implementing new ideas and processes.
• Knowledge of applicable accounting and financial statement preparation methods and requirements (FASB, FERC, and SEC).
• Proficient in personal computer applications with emphasis in spreadsheet and/or accounting software.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of financial / accounting impact of invoicing and accounts receivable and/or accounts payable transactions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and good human relations skills.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of corporate financial data.
• Familiar with FERC Uniform System of Accounts and Company policy and procedures.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
