We have an excellent opportunity for Truck Foreman on our asphalt team that work in IA, NE, SD. We offer competitive wages with a full benefits package. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: To manage the transportation process and people to ensure timely delivery of needed products and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School or GED plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related field

2. Familiar with operation of all types of trucks in fleet.DOT regulations in Nebraska, Iowa , South Dakota and Minnesota

3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record

4. Preferred experience with technology (ipad and computers etc.)
5. Preferred experience of heavy equipment (loaders, skidloader, forklift)

6. Mechanical aptitude
Duties and Responsibilities
DISPATCH COORDINATION
1. Manage dispatchers and drivers associated with all trucking needs. Collaborate with asphalt, aggregate to determine dispatch requirements. Manage mobilizations to and from projects. Manage fleet of equipment transports. Obtain all permits for hauling equipment. .

FLEET REQUIREMENTS
2. ITO (Independent Truck Operator) contracts - review historical contracts, analyze new and upcoming requirements, establish a median rate, then produce an improved contract and pay rate schedule.

3. Approve and submit work hours for crew and pertinent job information daily.

4. Project and source the required fleet. Coordinate proper truck utilization with team leaders.

5. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.

6. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

7. Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.

8. Drive various trucks when needed to supplement trucking needs.

9. Move lab trailers to construction sites.

10. Perform necessary training for new truck drivers.

11. Perform pre-trip and post-trip training, and monitor completion of same.

12. Perform all driving road tests for new hires.

13. Help get electric and phone hook ups for lab trailer.

14. Move lab trailers to construction sites.

15. Erect wage board and put up required posters.

16. Perform other duties as assigned.
