ASSISTANT DISPATCHER

We are currently looking for a dedicated Assistant Dispatcher in Eugene, Oregon.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receive phone orders for Ready Mix.
- Schedule, dispatch, and monitor truck activity through computer terminal.
- Correlate customer needs with other orders, insure punctual arrivals, and maximize service while utilizing personnel and equipment to their fullest.
- Other misc. duties as directed by supervisor.
- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors observed.
- Aptitude for dealing with customers, sales, and problem solving.
- Requires experience with Windows based systems and the ability to manage multiple tasks at same time.
- Need legible handwriting, good organization, communication, math, writing, and good phone skills.
- People oriented, empathetic, and flexible.
- Must be able to effectively handle breakdowns, dealing with the public, and difficult situations.
- Knowledge of market area, DOT regulations, and previous construction experience helpful.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate and learn new computer programs.
- Ability to effectively manage time and multi task.
- Ability to manage stressful situations.
- Ability to work safely in a busy construction environment.
- Willingness to work odd hours and Saturday’s if necessary.
- Must work as a member of a location team.
- Ability to accurately log important information on a daily basis.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to speak effectively before contractors or employees of organization.
- Ready Mix laydown experience a preference.
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment testing.
