Materials Specialist

Entry Level: $5,153 - $6,442 /month    
Position is eligible for Employee Referral Program.
Job Summary:
Responsible for specification, procurement and purchase function directly associated with the Company’s need for materials, equipment and services. Support the development and implementation of material standards and service technical specifications. Support the qualification process of new material manufacturers. Assure that products and services are secured at a competitive price and meet required specifications. Provide timely planning and delivery of the products and services. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must possess a working knowledge of material purchasing procedures at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in business, engineering, accounting or related discipline.
• Five years related experience.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Demonstrated analytical, project management, and negotiation skills to organize multiple and complex projects.
• Requires excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in the use of JD Edwards and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Highly motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with internal and external customers in a positive and efficient manner.
• Must maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
Additional Requirements
• May be required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
• May require occasional travel to company facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of company and / or related industries standards.
• JD Edwards experience.
• Maximo experience.
• Experience in contract development or contract management.
• Engineering or construction management background
