Asphalt Distributor Operator

Job Summary:
An Asphalt Distributor Operator consists of operating an asphalt distributor by applying specialized emulsions to roadways, which are then covered by a chip spreader. The operator is responsible for setting the pace for the paving operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year or more experience operating an Asphalt Distributor Truck.
Must possess a Class A or B CDL, and Hazmat endorsement.
High-School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen, DOT physical, and physical performance evaluation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilites:
Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees; be a part of the team.
Must be able to shoot tack, prime, and seal on a daily basis, as needed.
Must supply water to rollers as needed.
May oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
Possess a solid understanding of all aspects of the paving industry.
Responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment; and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screen extensions.
Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands. Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
Must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 100 lbs.
Must have transportation to departure area.
Regular and timely attendance is essential.
Perform other duties as assigned.
