Fleet Foreman

Job Summary:
Keeping our equipment fleet running and maintained properly to maximize production. This person will need to have a Safety first approach to daily job task activities. They must have strong troubleshooting ability and be able to perform maintenance and repairs to company vehicles and equipment. Strong leadership skills will also be required to lead our maintenance team. The daily use of computer systems a must, email, and spreadsheets to track and manage time and materials for repairs will be an essential daily task.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License, with a Class A CDL strongly preferred
- Acceptable MVR
- Diesel mechanic experience
- Ability to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Willing to work late evenings and weekends
- Advanced computer skills
Duties and/or Responsibilities:
An individual in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions.
- Repair work and using diagnostic software programs to troubleshoot company trucks, vehicles and equipment
- Operate lifting devices
- Lead and delegate to the maintenance team
- Manage maintenance team time and materials
- Fill out shop repair orders daily
- Report information accurately on all reports
- Clean work areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Mechanical abilities
- Have experience working on various types of:
-- Diesel engines; Mack, Kenworth, Peterbuilt
-- Caterpillar equipment
-- John Deere construction equipment
-- Hydraulic and electrical systems
-- Transmissions, planetaries, and differentials
- Analytical skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems
- Ability to drive vehicles and maintain appropriate licensure -knowledge and application of safe driving techniques
- Ability to read maps and follow directions, including two way radio communication skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with difficult people
- Ability to maintain positive, courteous and respectful customer relations
- Ability to work independently
- Computer skills are a must
Physical Requirments:
- Extensive walking on uneven surfaces
- Lift and carry up to 100 pounds
- Exposure to dust, fumes, odors
- Hand eye coordination
- Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids
- Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting
- Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting
- Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time
