Outside Sales Rep - Concrete and Aggregate

Job Summary:
Outside Sales Representative with experience and solid understanding of the Ready Mix industry needed to establish and maintain positive relationships with current and potential customers in order to reach maximum sales volume and profitability for concrete and aggregate sales.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2. At least two years experience in a related field.
3. Solid computer skills required.
4. Excellent customer service skills a must.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to manage competing priorities within tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. College degree in engineering, marketing and sales, or related field.
2. Two to Five years in a sales related function calling directly on Engineers, Architects, Business Owners and Contractors.
3. Preference given to those with construction industry or construction materials experience.
4. Bilingual a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies
1. Make direct calls on customers. Assist customers regarding service, pricing, order taking, merchandising and product training as needed.
2. Call on new accounts such as contractors, sub-contractors, government agencies, supply houses, and developers, to solicit new business.
3. Handle inside and outside sales of products, including follow through on potential sales leads, obtaining necessary information i.e., job specifications and take off of projects.
4. Develop product knowledge through value added sales, trade shows, customer questions, and product quality resolution. Must have the ability to identify best product for customer needs and advise accordingly.
5. Prepare quotes/bids for projects using appropriate worksheets that provide company unit prices.
6. Discuss costs and schedule with operating divisions, provide project opportunities, challenges and other project information advice as appropriate to internal staff.
7. Follow through on customer satisfaction on jobs awarded. Monitor product quality during delivery and installation.
8. Assist operations/dispatch in servicing deliveries on site.
9. Communicate effectively and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
10. May need to deliver aggregate samples to project owner engineer when required.
11. Facilitate pre-construction, construction and post-construction meetings with appropriate internal staff as required by the complexity of projects awarded.
12. Immediately report concerns regarding billing, credit, delivery and quality of product to appropriate internal departments and coordinate meetings with other departments to address customer concerns.
13. Attend seminars to develop new and existing product knowledge.
14. Maintain continuing education via trade journals, newspapers, and other publications to monitor new developments in the construction industry, government or community.
15. Pick up payments in person from customers as necessary to prevent COD status or late charges.
16. Assist billing clerk in troubleshooting order issues.
17. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
18. Other duties as assigned.
