Job Summary:
Knife River is looking for an Intern to assist our construction management staff and gain working project knowledge including plan interpretation, project specifications, project cost code knowledge, safety procedures, and the overall construction schedule. Interns will be working from an entry-level standpoint in the following areas:
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, etc.
• Review project drawings and shop drawings for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with subcontractors and verify contract payments
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for maximization of operation efficiency
• Assist with preparing and updating project schedule and interact with all involved in scheduling decision processes
• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking of work to confirm work is in conformance with plans and specifications
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should have background in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. Must have the desire to learn in a fast-paced work environment, be able to multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Fluency in Microsoft Office required; experience in HCSS a plus.

Successful applicant should have a valid driver’s license and qualifying driving record under company policy.

This internship position will provide hands-on experience in the Construction Industry. We are looking for individuals that will be willing to work in various locations where needed.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
