Job Summary:
To operate and maintain loader to feed conveyors, hoppers or load trucks, assist the Plant Operator in the maintenance of the plant and yard.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Equipment operation & maintenance.

3. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record. Class B CDL preferred.

4. Concrete material handling experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform daily yard and equipment walk around and inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.

2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader and plant. Maintain 3 points of contact at all times while performing maintenance activities.

3. Safely and properly operate loader. Make sure bucket/attachments are lowered to ground whenever leaving the equipment.

4. When loading trucks always keep driver in sight to communicate and ensure safe loading procedure. Load trucks up to legal hauling weight limit.

5. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors.

6. Daily activities include: walking, climbing, shoveling, greasing, driving, repairing, and working overhead. Be able to work without direct supervision and to report information accurately and completely on daily time cards and other needed paperwork.

7. Identify and maintain material to produce quality concrete per job specifications. Communicate with other personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.

8. Maintain smooth, level haul roads

9. Maintain contaminate free aggregate piles

10. Inspect material - check gradation quality, oversize rocks, contaminants

11. Keep yard floor smooth & haul roads maintained

12. Keep concrete plant fed for maximum production

13. Check for spillage on plant floor and clean up daily (assist with shoveling spillage)

14. Check for worn out flashing on plant that could lead to spillage.

15. Maintain the left over concrete that is dumped out at the plant

16. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.

17. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

18. Ensure OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR, lock out/tag out, safety and environmental regulation compliance.

19. Performs other duties as assigned.
