Knife River has an immediate opening for an Environmental Specialist in Tangent, Oregon.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage and ensure permit compliance with local and state regulations (Oregon DEQ Air & Water Quality, Oregon Department of Geology, Mine/Reclamation, and State and Local Land Use).
- Monitor permits to insure renewals and updates are conducted in a timely manner.
- Conduct necessary collecting, sampling and monitoring of water and/or soil for analyses.
- Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science, Environmental Science or related field.
- Experience in an environmental, geology or related role (3 years minimum) with at least 1 year of field experience.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. This position may require some travel.
- Ability to read and understand maps and analyze data.
- Familiarity with local, state and federal environmental regulations and standards.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely is a must.
- Strong computer skills including experience using Microsoft products. Knowledge of AutoCad or other mapping software helpful.
- Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.
