Job Summary:
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others.
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, and hydraulic systems by performing the following duties.

1. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
2. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
3. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
4. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
5. Starts devices to test their performance.
6. Sets up and operates tools to repair equipment.
7. Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment.
8. Raises equipment with hydraulic jack or hoists to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
9. Removes unit such as engine, transmission or differential.
10. Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
11. Overhauls or replaces carburetors, generators, distributors, starters and pumps.
12. Relines and adjusts brakes.
13. Analyzes blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and drawings to determine fabrication specifications.
14. Verifies conformance to specifications.
15. Assembles fluid power components such as pumps, cylinders, valves, reservoirs, motors, accumulator, filters and controls.
16. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
