Concrete Construction Laborers (seasonal)

Job Summary:
To safely complete various laborer and small equipment operation tasks to produce quality concrete construction projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
3. A high degree of mechanical aptitude is desired.
4. Concrete construction experience preferred but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Set metal, wood, and masonite concrete forms to proper elevations and layout.

2. Level and compact aggregate base to set grades.

3. Assist in the operation of concrete roller and vibratory screeds to consolidate and level concrete pavement.

4. Perform housekeeping on various pieces of company equipment and Knife River owned properties. Help with maintenance checks, preventative maintenance, and repairs as needed.

5. Operate concrete saws, skid steer loaders, mechanical plate tampers, skil saws, and company vehicles as needed.

6. Cutting, tying, and layout of rebar.

7. Perform general clean up of job sites, and strip forms after concrete flatwork has cured.

8. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others. Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

9. Always perform duties with safety as the first and foremost responsibility to yourself and your co-workers.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.
