Job Summary:
Promote Capital Electric Line Builders’ core values and safety culture. Responsible for making safety a #1 priority in the day-to-day work routine for one’s self and others. Provide overall administrative and technical management on assigned projects from bid preparation through final acceptance by client. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, electrical codes & standards, budget, and schedule.

Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering and material control) and will provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff and other Project Managers. Supervise craft employees by working closely with the Superintendents, General Foreman, and on-site Foreman. May have to supervise work of other contractors as required by the contract. Track progress of craft and subcontractors to ensure project stays on schedule. Develop and execute recovery plan if schedule is negatively affected.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of all project documentation including but not limited to correspondence, billing, purchase orders, change orders, submittals, schedules, etc.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Supervise, mentor, and coach other project managers within the group. Specifically providing guidance regarding project estimates & bidding, schedule development, construction management, project management, developing cost projections, and accurately providing monthly project cost financial reports.
2. Coordinate and confer with professional staff to resolve operating problems, authorize divisional operational procedures within corporate framework, and work with Divisional Senior Leadership to approve all major estimates.
3. Directly or indirectly provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project.
4. Directly or indirectly complete estimate(s) for selected project(s) with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, and contracting.
5. Directly or indirectly supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, codes & standards, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, other contractors, etc.
6. Directly or indirectly plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.).
7. Investigate any situations with potential project impacts, mitigate wherever possible and initiate correcting actions as necessary.
8. Directly or indirectly supervise craft employees by working closely with the Superintendents, General Foreman, and on-site Foreman. May have to supervise work of other contractors as required by the contract.
9. Provide technical assistance (i.e., interpretations of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required). Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
10. Responsible for productivity of other project managers, administration staff, bargaining personnel, efficient use of material and equipment, and contractual performance of project(s).
11. Ensure company’s safety initiatives are followed by all employees. Investigate, report, and correct any safety-related incidents.
12. Safely drive various vehicles. Obtain, as necessary, all moving permits, licenses, titles, safety checks, etc. as required by corporate policy, state or federal regulations or client requirements.
13. Perform additional assignments as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field. Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience is also acceptable. 15+ years construction management with emphasis in utility based T&D projects required. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, codes); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, estimating, schedules and safety is required.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule & on budget. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to resolve disputes. Must be able to function in a fast paced, high pressure environment. Excellent communication and supervisory skills are essential.
