Job Summary:
GENERAL SUMMARY/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Develops, coordinates, and facilitates multiple state (California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho) claims management processes and functions for workers compensation, automobile, and general liability lines of coverage; to include facilitating loss-based analysis with the objective of mitigating exposure to risk and loss costs.

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
2. A minimum of five years professional work experience in insurance, claims, or risk management.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Perform claims oversight functions. Participate in claim investigations, preparation of reports and other documents as directed. Develop closure strategies and assist in negotiating settlements.
2. Coordinate insurance claims litigation with operating units, brokers, carriers and corporate Legal Department.
3. Analyze, research and resolve claim or coverage disputes.
4. Review, analyze and report findings associated with claims and loss runs.
5. Prepare claims handling instructions for company personnel.
6. Provide statistical information and reports to leadership, derived from the claims management function.
7. Responsible for assisting safety department, accounting, or administrative functions as they relate to claims and incidents.
8. Frequent written and telephone contact with business units, subsidiaries, vendors and other third parties.
9. Collaborate on the selection of medical providers.
10. Manage the organizations return to work/modified duty program.
11. Provide advocacy services to the organization and its employees, while serving as the central figure in the care, custody, and control of the claims management process.
12. Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned.
13. The ability to travel as required.
