Job Summary:
Responsible to safely operate & maintain straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers or chutes and to load trucks or railcars.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Over 1 month up to and including 3 months from post high school, work, military, institutional or vocational environment.

2. Reasoning ability equivalent to a level of applying commonsense understanding and carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.

3. Language ability equivalent to a level of a passive vocabulary, (This is typically evidenced by an ability to read at rate of 190-215 words per minute.) Speak clearly and distinctly.

4. Mathematical ability equivalent to a level to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure including decimal fractions. (The position may require different actual mathematical applications)

6. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record


DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained

2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader. Maintain 3 points of contact at all times while performing maintenance activities.

3. Safely and properly operate loader (including starting engine, shifting gears, pressing pedals, moving levers and turning steering wheel). Load trucks with driver in sight to ensure safe loading procedure. Make sure bucket/attachments are lowered to ground whenever leaving the equipment.

4. Identify appropriate material to produce quality aggregate material per job specifications. Communicate with other personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.

5. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others

6. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors

7. Ensure OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR, lock out/tag out, safety and environmental regulation compliance

8. Frequently working in an environment with: Exposure to varying elements and all weather conditions, Loud noises, Vibration, and a need for Far Acuity
Occasionally working in an environment with: Climbing, Fingering equipment controls, Hearing, Near Acuity, Proximity to moving Mechanical parts
Constantly working in an environment with: Reaching, Handling, field of Vision, Atmospheric Conditions

9. While performing daily tasks may be required to kneel, bend, climb, twist and/or lift 20-50# occasionally, 10-25# frequently and up to 10# constantly.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.
