Job Summary:
Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. Responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the company's needs for production materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards. The position is further responsible for the timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned consistent with MAS software requirements and production schedule.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Encourage and maintain profitable relationships with various suppliers to meet facility production plans by coordinating deliveries, shipping schedules and work orders; Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers.
2. Maintain full accountability for preparing manufacturing inventory, daily-expected shipments, and past due items to determine quantities and order dates of materials to meet production schedule.
3. Ensure timely delivery of materials through the tracking of shipments and replenishment schedules.
4. Resolve material discrepancies, minimize freight expenditures, and reconcile inventory records.
5. Coordinates with engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
6. Enter and maintain job costing for production flow and schedules
7. Enter and maintain shop production hours for job costing and shop payroll.
8. Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools.
9. Maintain purchase order files, production job files and supplier files;
10. Prepare and distribute Job Cost completion file and all pertinent reports and registers.
11. Prepare various cost/statistical reports for management as required.
12. Coordinate with plant engineering to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
13. Provide back up assistance to other office personnel.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational and experience requirements include: 5 years in related field. Candidate must be familiar with manufacturing and , automated purchasing.
Key Skills & Competencies
Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Requires a positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with management, employees and vendors. Good punctuation, spelling, and grammar skills are essential. Ability to effectively identify opportunities, develop focus, and provide tactical business solutions, often through the use of negotiation. Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
