Job Summary:
Responsible for managing projects, working with the General Contractor’s Project Managers, Site Superintendents, Field Staff and Executive Staff to assist in the following: acts as a liaison with Owners, Architects, Engineering and Tenants regarding project feasibility, cost, scheduling, completion, and close-out for multiple private and public construction projects ranging in size from $50,000.00 to $5,000,000.00.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for design development participation, pre-construction, construction and tenant coordination.
2. Maintains constant and effective communications with team members, internal/external customers and vendors.
3. Implements programs (i.e. Safety, Scheduling, Monitoring) to comply with legal, regulatory and standards of construction requirements.
4. Works with estimator and site superintendent to manage projects, subcontractors, suppliers, and building officials to meet construction deadlines, architectural requirements, building codes and owner tenants/expectations.
5. Leads with Vision of the end goal and pragmatic decision-making.
6. In an effective communicator, good at planning and organizing and had technical and professional knowledge.
7. Performs additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Educational and experience requirements include: Degreed or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience. 5 to 10 years’ experience in construction management, buildings and infrastructure. Preferred but not required. Prior experience as Assistant Project Manager level or above, managing project budgets, design/build and other construction work activities in the underground utility and grading industries.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Thorough knowledge of construction practices, procedures, design, and materials; architectural and engineering principles and practices related to projects including programming, planning and development, design and construction; techniques for project management as it applies to projects including reviewing design documents, plans, specifications, estimates, schedules and reports.

Good knowledge of specifications and requirements, cost estimates, preparing related reports and making recommendations; budgeting and accounting practices; related laws, ordinances, codes, rules and regulations; strategic planning principles, practices, and procedures; organizational structure, overall operation, mission and goals; principles and practices of supervision including leadership styles and methods.

Ability to plan, direct and coordinate professional and sub-professional construction management work; interpret and apply related laws, ordinances, codes, regulations, and policies; manage several diverse projects simultaneously; effectively resolve complaints and issues.

Ability to work independently and organize and prioritize work; communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing; exercise initiative and use sound judgment; make recommendations to management; communicate effectively with individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Ability to use Microsoft Office, Project, Work and Excel to develop professional reports, letters and data analysis reports; edit and proof written materials; prepare and maintain complete, accurate and concise reports and records. Proficient in the use of office equipment including computers, Internet, copiers and fax machines.
