Job Summary:
Prepares design materials for basic design assignments. This includes basic analysis, design calculations, equipment research, and sketches required in order to prepare documents, specifications drawings or to meet other requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Read and interpret submittals, electrical drawings and riser diagrams.
2. Understand construction principles as it relates to all MEP trades.
3. Apply AutoCAD MEP in preparation of 2D and 3D models and drawings.
4. Apply Revit MEP software in preparation of 3D models and drawings.
5. Utilize Navisworks for BIM coordination clash detection.
6. Apply standard practices and techniques in analyzing data and recognize practical solutions to basic engineering problems.
7. Knowledge of NEC Code in developing models and drawings.
8. Participate in coordination clash detection meetings.
9. Model complete Electrical distribution, power, lighting, branch and Low Voltage systems to the required level of detail that meets project requirements.
10. Autodesk Point Layout documentation, workflow and Total Station file preparation to all drawings experience is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Educational and experience requirements include: High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years technical training preferred. 2-5 years of modeling and clash detection required.

Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others. General knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Requires a positive attitude and the ability to verbally communicate with internal and external customers. Good punctuation, spelling, and grammar skills.
