980 Loader Operator

Job Summary:
To operate and maintain 980 size loader to feed conveyors, hoppers or load trucks.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent

2. Equipment operation & maintenance

3. 2 years’ experience operating a loader in a plant setting.
Duties and/or Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.

2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader. Maintain 3 points of contact at all times while performing maintenance activities.

3. Safely and properly operate loader.

4. Stockpile Management.

5. Assist with Asphalt Plant Maintenance and Repairs.

6. Load trucks with driver in sight to communicate and ensure safe loading procedure.

7. Load trucks up to legal hauling weight limit.

8. Identify appropriate material to produce quality aggregate material per job specifications. Communicate with other personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.

9. Maintain contaminate free aggregate piles.

10. Inspect material - check gradation quality, oversize rocks, contaminants.

11. Keep pit floor smooth & haul roads maintained.

12. Keep Asphalt plant fed for maximum production.

13. Check for spillage on plant floor and clean up daily (assist with shoveling spillage.)

14. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

15. Ensure OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR, lock out/tag out, safety and environmental regulation compliance.

16. Performs other duties as assigned.
