Job Summary:
Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. Prepare complete estimates for assigned project(s) of medium to large size and high complexity either directly or through subordinate personnel.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Review and incorporate historical data from past performance, project experience, purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man hour figures.
2. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
3. Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
4. Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to particular bid/project as assigned.
5. Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates and figures.
6. Interface with owner, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
7. Follow awarded contracts as assigned – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits; procuring material, etc.
8. This position is required to drive.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational and experience requirements include: equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience to the following: four years estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in construction. Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essential. Knowledge of National Electric Code. Must have safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies
Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Excellent communication, and organizational skills are essential. Accubid, Primavera, Live count a plus and Microsoft Office and Project experience ideal.
