Job Summary:
Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. To sell service agreements for fire suppression systems inspections - sell new system designs and installations; and sell modifications and upgrades to existing systems. Establish and maintain effective contact with potential buyers.

1. Execute business development action plans for defined targets. Monitor sales activities and adjust to market changes as necessary.
2. Develop and identify prospects from current clients, referral leads, and other sources. May lead/participate in presentations to new clients.
3. Establish contact with potential buyers of new systems, system modifications, and upgrades.
4. Prepare estimates utilizing estimating software (or written proposals) in accordance with project plans and specifications. Gather necessary information and pricing to assemble a complete estimate. Maintain an active proposal backlog.
5. Contact potential buyers of service agreements – initiate sales calls and follow up on leads identified in the company’s business development plan.
6. Represent the Company at industry trade and convention shows as needed.
7. May assist in the development and implementation of the strategic marketing plan, department sales objectives, and individual sales plans.
8. Provide input and feedback on issues relevant to client programs, work in progress, marketing initiative and sales assistance.
9. This position is required to drive.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational and experience requirements include: Four year business or technical degree plus 2 years inside or outside sales experience or equivalent education and work experience. Must have a proven record of sales, building relationships, and closing work – ability to define markets, qualify customers, and track and follow leads. Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug screening and background check. Knowledge of fire sprinkler system service and inspections, and NFPA is preferred, but not required. Must have safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies
Requires strong persuasion and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. General knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills are essential. Must understand the sales process and be able to “close the sale” because work performance has potential profit and loss implications. Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
