Job Summary:
This position is a full time seasonal position located in Missoula, Montana. The normal work week is Monday-Friday with numerous Saturdays during the construction season and possible Sundays required. Number of hours per week could exceed 40. Length of
season depends on available work and weather. This is a working Foreman/Superintendent position with applicant required to operate equipment, surveying as well as manage daily tasks of the assigned job.
Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires 3 years experience as a Foreman in Heavy/Civil/Highway construction with proven knowledge of the current state and federal construction safety regulations, or equivalent. Applicant must also possess the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communication. Basic computer skills are required. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and a qualifying driving record under company policy. Must successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and physical pre-placement & range of motion exam. This is a Town Based Construction operation and experience in curb, sidewalk, parking lot paving, highway paving and grading operations is preferred.
1. This position will require direct oversight of all employees on the project and will include orientation, coaching, provide daily direction and discipline of all on-site employees.
2. Responsible for all construction activities related to the project including but not limited to scheduling and assigning of resources and monitoring daily progress. This also includes coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.
3. Responsible for entire job safety program. This includes complying with and implementation of all company standards and any federal and state regulations as applicable. The Foreman is also responsible for subcontractors safety compliance.
4. Will collect any necessary job data and evaluate project profitability on a daily basis. The Foreman will be responsible to assure project costs stay within established budgets.
5. All purchases initiated from the job site will be approved by the Foreman.
6. Foreman will report directly to Knife River's assigned Project Manager and will communicate timely and effectively to the Project Manager on all aspects of the project.

Physical Requirements
Job requires steady to intermittent physical activity including: sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking, sometimes on uneven ground, lifting, carrying, pushing, etc.
