Job Summary:
Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. This individual will design, coordinate, and project manage the fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

1. Designs and creates the finished representation for the sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools.
2. The drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office.
3. Responsible for the initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock listing, analyzing changes, and solving problems.
4. Responsible for tracking, forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measures of the project.
5. Works in close coordination with the, project superintendent, and sales representative will be required throughout the life of the project.
6. Conducts long range project planning and scheduling.
7. Monitors and manages projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.
8. Tracks employee hours and crew mix rates for each project.
9. Identifies changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.
10. Make sure change orders/change estimates are completed in timely manner.
11. Monitors project billings for accuracy and maintenance of a positive cash flow.
12. Continually monitors progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines.
13. Reviews drawings and assist/lead during field check stage of the project.
14. Ensures work complies with codes and permits.
15. Reports to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications required.
16. Reviews construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’s sprinkler system.
17. Thorough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities.
18. Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD, AutoSprink programs.
19. Create stock list for all material required throughout the project.
20. Perform hydraulic calculations.
21. Coordinate with other departments within office to ensure proper handover of job information.
22. Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers.
23. Perform additional assignments as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four year Construction Management/Mechanical Design/Business degree and three years’ experience in commercial, industrial, and residential design. NICET certification is a plus. Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD and AutoSprink fire sprinkler layout software. Project management experience. Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines. Must be detail-oriented and skilled in free hand and mechanical lettering and drawings Must have good communication skills willing to coordinate and work well with others.

Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential. Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
This position can be located in either Las Vegas, NV, Reno, NV or San Francisco CA.
