Job Summary:
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Responsible for providing consulting services and guidance to all levels of employees on labor and employee relations matters. Works with management to consistently interpret contract and policy language. Responsible for applying labor and employment law, developing policy and contract language, interpreting contract provisions and policies, leading investigations, and providing recommendations for grievances and corrective action. Provides input to the HR Director on labor negotiation strategies and completes and/or coordinates preparations for labor negotiations and arbitrations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess knowledge of human resource functions and processes; employment and labor law; labor and employee relations practices normally acquired through completion of a four-year degree in human resources management or a business related discipline plus a minimum of five years of labor, employee relations, or supervisory/leadership experience.
Key Skills & Competencies
•Must have a solid understanding of labor and employee relations practices, labor contract administration and familiarity with federal and state regulations.
•Requires the ability to analyze data and develop recommendations, a good understanding of Microsoft Office software, and a basic understanding of HR technology.
•Proven track record of building relationships/collaboration, managing projects and developing implementation plans.
•Must have effective consulting, coaching and negotiation skills.
•Must have the ability to actively listen and provide clear, concise information in verbal, written and electronic formats.
•Must have excellent team and consulting skills.
•Requires the ability to maintain highly confidential information and carry out duties with integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
•Prior Human Resource or leadership experience in a combination gas and/or electric utility.
•Certification as SHRM – Certified Professional or HRCI – Professional Human Resources preferred
Additional Information
•Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
